This has been a busy month for the club.
A fantastic bus trip looking at many of the historical sites around Toowoomba kicked off the weekend. Thanks to the organizers and Rhonda our bus driver and of course our wonderful historian and ghost whisperer, Don Talbot.We also would like to thank the Downs Hotel for a fabulous meal and the minister of St Mathew''s Church, Drayton, a fellow Lion, who showed us around his historical church.



Members of the Highfields Lions Club also went to the District Changeover Dinner, held in our own Highfields Cultural Centre to see , 'Our Bev"' ably supported by 'her/our Garry'' become District Governor. She has a huge job ahead of her and we wish her the best.
Members also went to the Toowoomba Inc Changeover to support our fellow Lions and have a good time.
We are proud to announce that we have ZOE BRENNAN to represent us in the Lions Medical Research Miss Personality Quest. The Planning Committee has already started to organize many social and fundraising events for our entrant.

and our Theatre Night, 5th October at the Toowoomba Repertory Theatre to see Thornton Wilder's play 'Our Town', $15 per ticket gives you a wonderful supper as well. Contact the club for tickets.
We are able to take orders for the famous Lions Christmas Cakes , please contact the club.They make wonderful Christmas presents for your family, friends or business associates while raising much needed finds for the many Lions projects locally, nationally and internationally as well.
Plans for the future include some more social nights, a camp at Maidenwell, another bus trip, a roving mystery lunch tour( no mystery food thank goodness).We are also planning a Karaoke night- how much are you willing to pay me NOT to sing???
We are planning a bike ride through Highfields and another Cent Sale in 2011. This is just some of the activities planned. If you are in Highfields and interested to see our club in action
